Jimbaran Bay Accommodation

Posted: December 14th, 2009 | Category: Travel and Leisure

Jimbaran Bay beaches are lined with excellent places to stay from hotels to traditional villas, the kind of hotel that you can expect here is from mid range to five star Bali Accommodation.  As with all more expensive places in Bali the service that you can expect is unmatched.  All the Jimbaran Bay hotels will supply what are basic facilities for these types of establishments ; air con, in house restaurants, bars and twenty-four hour room service will be the standard package and the private service you should expect will become more quality orientated as the rates increase.  Just a few minutes from the beach there is some more isolated hillside accommodation that offers better views and more private facilities.  Jimbaran Bay Hotels all offer shuttle services for you to go to the beach or visit Kuta which is only 5 mins drive away.

Even though there is still the presence of local fisherman staying here, Jimbaran Bay budget accommodation is thin and is more customized to the up market traveler, with the more expensive resorts offering private swimming pools, and as you travel a bit more south or north, private beaches.  All hotels are beautifully landscaped with tropical gardens that are very well-tended and presented.  Bali has always created hotels and villas that have remarkable views and superb services and Jimbaran resorts provide all that may be anticipated from quality Balinese hospitality.

Jimbaran is situated in the south not far from Bali International airport, where all Bali Flights land.  Though this is a very popular vacation destination it hasn’t become as commercial as the other places in Bali.  Almost all of the beach resorts that have sprung up along the coast of Bali were little fishing villages at some time, that have transformed into large commercial visitor attractions.  All of these resorts have left behind their fishing history and concentrate totally on tourism as a source of income.

Staying in one of the Jimbaran Bay hotels is a unique experience as the village, though geared towards tourism, has still kept its fishing industry and it isn’t uncommon to see the fisherman on the beach with their traditional fishing boats and nets.  The village itself is also a mix of the old and the new.  Most of the other places to stay in Bali have a beach covered with eateries, bars, clubs and shops that are 100 percent for the utilization of holiday makers.  Jimbaran is an excellent place to stay as the main strip is still suggestive of an Indonesian village which has not been commercialized by the tourist industry.  Walking along here you’ll find food stalls and other facilities that are essentially utilised by the local Balinese fishing community.

Jimbaran beach is a long beach with the stunning white sand that Bali is known for with flat water all year long.  The mixture of indigenous and holiday maker places makes it a lively and engaging place to stay, the architecture though mainly consisting of visitor resorts and hotels is also mixed in with the local inhabitants traditional dwellings.  It’s a pity, but as the tourist industry grows, this tranquil village will probably go the way of the other preferred destinations and it won’t be too long before the colorful fishing boats of the fisherman are not lining the beach.
