Going on holiday with a child?
Posted: January 26th, 2010 | Category: InsuranceTravelling with children is by no means easy. This is also true if not more so for someone who is taking children with them who are not thier own as it will add that extra bit of worry to you.
There are however just a few things to remember to do when taking a child away with you and this is very important advice indeed.
Do make sure that you take with you a signed and attested consent letter from the parents for you to travel with the child, especially if the name of the child’s passport is different from yours. You are going to be asked for this in countries where overseas adoption and/or child trafficking is common. This is nothing to worry about at all, it is done to stop crime.
Having the correct visas and vaccinations is another very important thing as you must make sure everyone going has these. The USA is important as they have very tight system in terms of who they let in and out. Of course the vaccinations are mainly for places like Egypt where you are a lot more likely to catch something as your immune system will not be used to the surroundings.
Just make sure you are told everything about the child. For example any medication for any condition that the child may be suffering. Although it seems obvious it can be forgotten. Allergy UK actually produces cards in 27 other languages so if something does go wrong you can at least alert the medical crew of what exactly is the problem.
What if something does go wrong and something actually happens to the child who is in your care? Key to this is not panicing. Of course if you panic you will only make the situtation worse than it is, make sure you stay calm.
So just make sure you take extra care if you are taking a child away with you this summer.
If you are going away make sure you have your I-pod covered with I-pod insurance or even if you are at home, home insurance as well as emergency home insurance can be very important as well.
