Bachlorette Party’s and Bridal Shower Events Can Really Benifit From Trivia Games

Posted: December 26th, 2009 | Category: Arts and Entertainment

No matter what kind of party you’re having – tame or risqué – it’s likely you’re bringing together a group of people who do not know each other well.It is likely that the soon-to-be-married couple will be the only common denominator for all your guests – so, to get everyone relaxed and having fun, play trivia games that ask questions about the bride and/or groom. In the next few paragraphs, you’ll find suggestions on structuring the games, the questions you can ask, and the prizes you can award.

How Well Do You Know the Bride/Couple

One idea is to create a multiple-choice or short-answer quiz which you can hand out as people arrive for them to fill out at their leisure.  These questions can either be all about the bride (Where was Anne born? What is Anne’s favorite dessert?  How old was Anne when she got her first kiss?), or about the the bride and her fiancée (How were Anne and James introduced?  What did James say at the end of their first date? ).  You may collect them at some point after everyone is present and then announce the winner, or (for a more entertaining experience), have everyone “grade” someone else’s quiz and then figure out the winner.
On the Spot

Another idea involves asking the groom questions, beforehand – questions that the bride should be able to answer, as well.Later in the party, ask the bride to sit in the center of the room; you ask her the same questions you asked her fiancee and compare answers.  This can result in some flattering surprises for the bride, and if a question is particularly interesting or controversial, gives her the chance to tell anecdotes.Who was James’s college roommate? What does James most admire about you?

How to Choose Your Questions

Your invitees and the tone of the event itself should be foremost in your mind.A bachelorette party is simply not the same as a bridal shower. The more “intense” questions should be shared only with the bride’s closer (in age or intimacy) friends. If the answer to any given question would make you blush around your boyfriend or husband’s grandmother, then don’t make your friend suffer that embarrassment.  The idea is to make sure everyone is having a good time – that is, neither bored nor uncomfortable with the topics. There are many things you could try for your shower and they might include free baby shower ideas, baby shower sayings for cake or baby shower favors.

Think of some Good Prizes!

Once again, keep in mind the tone of the party and your guests’ preferences when considering prizes.Any of these options can be purchased without breaking your budget. For a more reserved event, you can consider prizes which still say “love” or “romance,” without being “improper,” such as a scented lotion or Hershey’s kisses. Now then, if the event is a bit racier in tone, you can give more scandalous prizes, such as edible underwear or fishnet stockings.
Playing trivia games is a guaranteed way to ensure that both the bride and her guests will have as much fun as possible – without you having to break the bank.
