Anti-Aging Skin Creams – Some Tips to Help You Choose a Productive Treatment

Finding an anti-aging product that works for you and is gentle on the skin isn’t necessarily easy.  There are lots of products on the market that are supposed to reduce lines and wrinkles and make your skin look younger but do they’re employed or are they merely a waste of money?  A selection of different ingredients are employed in these preparations and some have been demonstrated to be effective while some will have no effect whatsoever!  How does one tell the difference?  We have put together some info to help you find an effective anti-aging skin care product that may not be too expensive and will be effective if used correctly.

Firstly you need to find out what sort of skin you have and what its current condition is.  Have you got dry or oily skin?  Or have you got a combination skin?  Now consider the healthiness of your skin and how old you are.  A young skin or a skin with hardly any wrinkles and lines will better reply to light products or lotions, while a heavily wrinkled, older skin will need stronger age-defying skin treatment.

There are a range of different ingredients that are added to anti age skin products that might or might not be handy.  A few have been proven clinically to be effective on lines and wrinkles but sadly there are lots of that have no proved effect.  How are you able to and be certain that you are buying an anti-aging treatment that works?  We’ve gathered together some info on anti aging ingredients below to help you.

What doesn’t Work?

Collagen is a part of the deeper layers of the skin where it acts to support it and help to prevent wrinkles.  If the collagen is damaged, thru the rays of the sun or additional environmental components the skin isn’t supported correctly and begins to sag.  The collagen molecule is large and can’t enter the skin’s top layers when placed on the face.  For that reason collagen added to creams or lotions will have no effect whatsoever on lines and wrinkles.

Pricey lotions and creams

For anti-aging skin treatments it is not necessarily true that more cash equals more effect.  OTC lotions and creams all contain nearly the same quantity of active ingredient so paying more won’t make a difference to the resulting effect.

What Does Work?

Anti-aging skin preparations that contain retinol, available over the counter, or tretinoin available on prescription, have been shown medically to be effective on lines and wrinkles.  Retinol is not as useful as tretinoin but over time can reduce fine lines and wrinkles seriously.

Coenzyme Q10 has been shown to be effective on the fine lines round the eyes.  It may also protects the skin from sun damage.

Copper peptides accelerate collagen production, are good anti oxidants and can help to cure wounds.

Take Care in the Sun
Anti-aging skin products that contain retinol or tretinoin barely the skin’s sensitivity to the sun so they are best used before bed.  If you use them during the daytime, always apply a high factor sun screen also.

side effects of Tretinoin or Retinol
side effects are normally awfully mild but you could notice some irritation or redness the first time using these preparations.  This is completely normal and generally goes away in a day or two.  If it does continue for at least this stop using the product.

in conclusion
Anti aging products are terribly useful if used properly over a few months.  Ensure that you buy a skin care cream that contains ingredients that have been proved to work and don’t listen to exaggerated claims that cannot be proved.
