Anti-Aging Face Creams – When is it Sensible to Begin Using These Creams?

Posted: December 5th, 2009 | Category: Health and Fitness

Diverse anti age face creams promise to reduce puffiness, fine lines, wrinkles and sagging, the most important signs of skin aging.  Though the time of appearance of these signs is genetically determined, many ladies use these creams to prevent or delay the appearance of these signs in the earliest time possible.  Even teens use age-defying face creams because they need to retain their supple, firm and smooth skin as they grow older.  But when is the right time to use these creams?  Are there other alternatives to using contra-aging cosmetics and products?

The skin care regime must change as one grows older.  Most anti-aging face creams contain wrinkle-reducing agents such as retinol, alpha hydroxyl acids, peptides, Q-10 and sunscreens.  These ingredients provide additional moisture and lift to flagging skin, as the skin has a tendency to keep less moisture as we become older.  They also target spots and discolorations of the skin by inducing a mild peel.  While these ingredients provide these benefits, it might not be wise to use anti-aging creams on young skin because of their sensitivity.  Kids using anti-aging creams might harvest more harm than benefit.  The ingredients in the creams that they don’t need might dry the skin even more.

It is suggested that one begin using anti-aging creams with good moisturizing capacities and extra sunscreen in his / her 20’s and try to expand her cream choices as he / she goes to her 30’s and 40’s.  Look for anti-aging face creams or serums that target explicit areas of difficulty.  As an example, eye creams reduce puffiness and dark circles while firming lotions and masks give flagging skin a lift.  It’s also important to think about your skin type when selecting face creams.

Prevention is the only way to go

But it’s not enough to be reliant on age-defying products to obstruct aging and keep healthy skin.  If you are still young, remember that prevention is the only way to go.  Most skin aging products keep your skin hydrated and protected from the sun.  What smarter way to try this free than by drinking lots of water and putting on sunscreen?  Frequent sun exposure leads to faster wrinkling, flagging and discolouration.

Drinking plenty of water will help your anti-aging face creams in their fight against skin dryness.  What you eat also counts : incorporating plants and fruits in your diet will help keep your skin glowing.  Keep all of these tips in mind and you’re bound to be well on your way to maintaining young, stunning skin.
